Russian national volleyball team ran her second match at the international volleyball tournament Yeltsin Cup 2017 in Yekaterinburg. This time Russian’s rival was Turkey team. Our team won with a score 3:1.
Interesting fact that Russian and Turkey teams will play together in pool stage at European Championship, which they are preparing for right now, in Azerbaijan and Georgia in September.
Turkey seemed confident in the beginning and could lead 3:0. Guests stopped their spirit themselves after making a mistake at serving. Uralochka’s attacker Kseniia Parubets, who had an effective attack in a high jump, got the first point for our team. Soon Russians reached the competitors – 5:5, and by the second technical time-out Russian team was the leader – 16:14. Despite serving problems, Turkey team was able to win the first set – 25:20.
Second set debut was the reflection of the first one: Russians led 3:0 and confidently reached the first technical pause – 8:4. By the second technical time-out, the advantage of the host team raised for two more points – 16:10. Situation has not changed till the end: Russians were the strongest – 25:18.
The third set was equal for both teams – 17:17. Russian team had the firmer nerves in the challenging end – 25:22.
In the fourth set Russian team dropped Turkey – 8:1 by the first pause. And Turkey could not resist the pressure of Russian team, by the end of the match they had 6 match points but this did not save the day. 25:22 in the set and 3:1 in general score for the Russian team that took the second victory at the home tournament.
In another match of the second match day Bulgarian national team defeated Kazakhstan team with a score 3:1 (25:14, 25:20, 19:25, 29:27). Tomorrow Russian team is having a rest. Volleyball fans will see two games: Bulgaria – Turkey, Serbia – Kazakhstan. Next match Russian team will have with Bulgaria, June 29.
